Christian Faith Academy was founded in 1984 by three sisters and their mother, all public school teachers. A Christian school had been the dream of Irma Holstein. All four felt small classroom size and the ability to instill Christian values and patriotic heritage would be more beneficial to our children. This dream was realized when the youngest daughter took a year off from teaching. This year was used to visit many Christian schools and explore curricula available on the market. Abeka Book was chosen, and the staff traveled to Pensacola, Florida for intensive training in administering the Abeka program. The school has successfully continued since that day, producing graduates in the fields of homemaking, coal mining, education, engineering, nursing, and other medical careers including doctors, to name just a few. We plan to continue to serve the needs of families and children in the coalfields of Appalachia for many years to come.
